Growing up in New Zealand I would watch Graham Kerr, Yan Can Cook and Alison Holst on telly most weekends, scribbling down their recipes. The odd time I was clever, I'd video tape the shows for less stressful recipe writing. When I was desperate for a missed recipe, a self addressed envelope was sent to the TV studio so they could post me a copy of the recipes. None of this Google stuff!
So I've been obsessed with food from way back. It may have stemmed from my Nana telling me if I didn't finish every grain of rice in my bowl I wouldn't find a good husband. For some reason as a 7 year old this really spoke to me and I've been licking clean as many bowls as I can ever since. Fancy fare, cheap and cheerful, homely, the weird and wonderful - I love it all. I hope you enjoy my food adventures in Sydney and (hopefully) abroad with some recipes and Thermomixing thrown in.
A great big mucho gracias to Robbo for my lovely DSLR and for being patient when I take photos of food, even when he's about to eat his arm off.
